Swedish chocolate balls

In Sweden a common topping for chocolate balls is Pärlsocker which literally means Pearl sugar, it is hard bits of crushed sugar that does not melt in high temperature. Unfortunately Tsubako didn’t have any in the kitchen so this recipe is made with oats as garnish instead.

20 Swedish Chocolate balls

•    50 g room room temperature butter or coconut butter
•    70 g sugar
•    1-2 drops vanilla extract
•    ½ tablespoon cocoa powder
•    100 g rolled oat (for garnish and inside)
•    1-2 tablespoon cold coffee or water
•    2-3 tablespoon rolled oats or sesame seed or shredded coconut for garnish

1.    Mix all ingredients in a blender.
2.    Shape the dough into balls.
3.    Pour your garnish on a plate and roll the balls in the garnish.
4.    Keep refrigerated in an airtight box .


  • 砂糖70g
  • 室温に戻したバターかココナッツバター50g
  • バニラエッセンス1-2滴
  • 無糖ココア小さじ半分
  • オーツ麦100g
  • 冷ましたコーヒーか水大さじ1-2
  • オーツ麦かゴマもしくはココナッツ大さじ2-3(飾り用)
  1. すべての材料をミキサーに入れ混ぜる。
  2. ボールの形に丸める。
  3. 飾り用のオーツ麦、もしくはココナッツの上で転がす。
  4. 密封されたタッパーに入れ、冷蔵庫で保存する。
